 Swarm of Honeybees Our bees decided to swarm in May. Honeybees swarm when the hive becomes too crowded.

Many people have heard of "chicken tractors"; portable pens that are used to raise meat chickens. Turkey tractors are a bit more uncommon.

The flowers are in bloom here at the farm. We leave some of the fields fallow to allow the plants to recover from grazing. One of the beautiful side effects of this is that the wildflowers get a chance to bloom.

Japanese Knotweed: The war has begun ! |

Japanese Knotweed has arrived at Dragonfly Farm and war has been declared !!! Japanese knotweed is an aggressive invasive plant that forms a monoculture. It out competes all other native plants until all you are left with is a sea of knotweed. It is a world wide problem, they are fighting it in the UK, fighting it on the US east coast, the mid west, and the pacific coast.
