Swarm of Bees
Swarm of Honeybees
Our bees decided to swarm in May. Honeybees swarm when the hive becomes too crowded.

This was our first experience dealing with a swarm of honeybees. We tried several times to capture the swarm. We underestimated how fragile the swarm was and it broke apart and fell before we were ready to capture it. We tried again with a larger container, but the majority of the swarm still missed the container. After two failed attempts to capture the swarm we decided just to let it go and hope that it would find a good home and survive even though the odds are against it. Good luck bees where ever you are!
